NEWS: New Alice In Chains album

Alice In Chains have updated their myspace with video from recording sessions for their new album.

The line-up consists of Jerry Cantrell (vocals, lead guitar), Mike Inez (bass), Sean Kinney (drums) and William DuVall (vocals, guitar). The album is being produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour, Trivium, Shadows Fall, Death Angel) and it will be out in early 2009.

I’m pretty freaking excited about this one. Alice In Chains were always my favourite band of the grunge era, and they always had plenty of metal. I guess a lot of people are going to say “Aw man, it won’t be the same without Layne” and stuff… of course it won’t, but I’m happy these guys are making new music.

NEWS: Eastwood Gemini

Check out this new beauty from Eastwood Guitars. Here’s the press release:

The Eastwood Gemini is the new model in our line of “Radical Vintage Remakes”. This wild looking guitar is a tribute to the short-lived and very collectible 1966 Wurlitzer Gemini. As with all Eastwood replica models, the Gemini has that retro vibe and features high quality modern electronics for incredible playability and great sound.

The Eastwood Gemini has a solid mahogany body featuring a tremolo and a high quality adjustable roller bridge. The short scale 24″ rock maple neck and rosewood fretboard give this guitar an unparalled balance. The Gemini is hand-wired in Canada to deliver a sophisticated modern sound without sacrificing that 1960’s vibe. The dual NY Mini-Humbucker pickups feature individual volume controls along with Rythm/Solo switches providing eight different tone options. The pickup switching combined with an overall tone control allows for unlimited customizing of your sound. The Gemini is available in the original two color choices of Taffy White or Lollipop Red.

f you want one you have to act fast as there are currently only 16 of each color available as a limited edition pre-NAMM release at . The full production of this model is scheduled for distribution in April 09.

“We are very excited about the Eastwood Gemini,” stated Mike Robinson, President of Eastwood Guitars “as guitar enthusiasts have been requesting that we create this quality replica model for over three years.”
