I have had the V3 map w a vintage load Carvin 4x12 for just over three years and in all seriousness, I play nothing but Carvin amps and custom guitars. Seriously killer tones on the V3, superior clean channel, and 2 gain channels to dial in crank or a great dark voiced edge of breakup JCM800 tone. Serious bang for the buck w Carvin and give no thought to any dufus who talks crap about Carvin. I have used several of their amps and the V3 is my fav of all time, including my Marshall half stack. I have retubed it several times and adjusting bias is simple. I have used both EL34s and 5881s and either sound great. I think I prefer the EL34s, I currently have Mullard's in it and I like to run higher quality 7025s in my preamp stages. This amp kills, just rich deep tones from clean to fried and works w my pedalboard to perfection.
I have 3 Carvin guitars at the moment and 1 is their kit I built. An Ebony board Strat too cool. This gear is of a level of quality and tone well worth 2-3 times their prices. I simply am not interested in any other guitars or amps and haven't been for over a decade.

After playing every amp in Atlanta, I decided to buy a V3. I'm glad I did! The V3 has the best tone/value for the buck. Carvin gear rocks.

Man o-man, would I like a V3. Just can't get the cash together. Oh well, dreams are still fun even when they can't come true.
