NEW SPONSOR: Capo
I’d like to offer a hearty welcome to new site sponsor SuperMegaUltraGroovy, makers of Capo, a killer Mac app for slowing down songs to learn how they’re played. You can adjust the speed and pitch, export music to your iPod (man I wish I had this when I was teaching!), add markers with keyboard shortcuts to identify different sections, loop sections, and using panning, EQ and vocal reduction to isolate parts of the music.
I can’t wait to use this to figure out how the hell Chris Broderick phrased his monstrous end solo in Megadeth’s ’44 Minutes’!
I’m going to review Capo soon. Check it out for yourself here.

for you PC users out there, you can slow down songs using audacity. Its free, and it more of less gets the job done. IM actually using it right now to help me figure out solos for my jazz guitar lessons. Just thought i would pass this on.
I programmed pretty much the same thing for linux, you can get it here: http://29a.ch/playitslowly/
May be I'll create a windows port at some point. I don't know…
