Here’s an awesome idea I came across a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to find the time to write about for a while. Bandwebsitetheme.com lets you build a website for a band or solo artist, and it lets you do it all: sell your albums, iTunes downloads, t-shirts, and any other merch. There’s an integrated store plugin which requires no coding experience, which is great news for a neophyte like myself.

The site also integrates with Twitter, Flicker, YouTube and Last.fm, and I think it even gets home five minutes before you do and puts the kettle on.

The site runs off WordPress and you can all photos, video and audio to any post or page on the site. It’s built to work with a free music player, and you can also run a blog within it. And of course update your tour dates.

It’s a paid site but it’s priced very reasonably. If you sign up, let me know cos I’m thinking of starting up an account myself when I get closer to finishing the CD I’ve been chipping away at.
