PRESS RELEASE: Grammy Award-winning classical guitarist Scott Tennant will be performing alive concert on June 1st, 2013 at 7:30pm. Held at the Guitar Salon showroom in Santa Monica, CA, the concert showcases seven of history’s most important guitars – all owned and played by the legendary Romero family of guitarists. The seven guitars will be brought to the venue by PepeRomero, Jr., whose livelihood as a world-renowned guitar maker continues the Romero family’s guitar tradition. He will be introducing each instrument with background, technical and historical information before handing it off to Tennant to perform with. The guitars include such famous examples as “La Wonderful,” the famous Miguel Rodriguez guitar of Pepe Romero, as well as a genuine Antonio de Torres guitar (the 19th century maker credited with creating the guitar as we know it today).
The event is expected to draw approximately 100 guests, and tickets are currently available ($20 each) through the Guitar Salon website. Complimentary refreshments, including Spanish wine and snacks, will be available to all guests.
This is really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To see these historic guitars that have made such an impact over the years be brought onto the concert stage again, let alone brought to life by one of today’s most significant performing artists…that’s not something you see every day. And we’re honored to be the ones to make it happen.
