John Jorgenson Touring Europe With Fret-King

PRESS RELEASE: Virtuoso guitarist, John Jorgenson, who has worked with artists as diverse as the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Elton John, Sting, Bob Dylan and Luciano Pavarotti is about to embark on a tour of Europe with his own band.  The John Jorgenson Electric Band which also comprises of Alan Thomson on bass (John Martyn, Andy Summers, Julia Fordham) Cesare Valbusa on drums (Albert Lee, James Burton, Tommy Emmanuel) Franz Bazzani on keyboards (Sousaphonix, James Burton) play an eclectic and original mix of music heavily influenced by John’s ‘Gypsy Jazz’ style (The John Jorgenson Quintet is the only US act to headline the prestigious Django Reinhardt Memorial Festival in France). Gibson Memphis Rich Robinson ES-335. Whoa.

ARRRSCNB1-Glam-ShotOh sweet zombie Jesus. Not 24 hours after posting my review of the Gibson 50th Anniversary 1963 ES-335, this is brought to my attention and entered my ‘Guitar Crush’ list: the Gibson Memphis Rich Robinson ES-335. Now, Rich is a dude who knows his vintage guitars very well indeed, so you know that when he specs out an ES-335 it’s going to be pretty damn sweet. This one has some cool niche features like a slightly wider nut, a pair of Burstbucker pickups (BurstBucker 1 at the neck, 2 at the bridge) and a Bigsby with cool ‘Custom Made’ plate to cover the stop bar stud holes, just like if this was an actual old ES-335 that had been Bisgby-fied.
