Mastodon’s Bill Kelliher Switches To ESP

original

Whoa, didn’t see this one coming. Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher’s Gibson signature models have been some of the coolest guitars Gibson has released in years, but now Bill has switched to ESP with two new sigs, the ESP Bill Kelliher and the LTD BK-600. ESP writes; “We’re proud to announce that Bill Kelliher of world-renowned American metal band Mastodon has joined our family of endorsed artists. But equally big news is that we’re also announcing the introduction of two new Signature Series models: the ESP Bill Kelliher and the LTD BK-600. Visitors to our booth at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville later this month will be able to check out Bill’s new signature guitars in person. They will be available at ESP dealers later this year.” Read More …

Gretsch Upgrades Electromatic Collection

G5420T Electromatic® Hollow Body

They were among the very first instruments to ever get me excited about guitar when I was a little kid – all that metal and the fancy f-holes just seemed really significant, y’know? – and there’s a certain magic inherent in the slightly gritty voice of a Gretsch ringing out in song. But they can be pretty darn expensive, which is the only reason I still don’t own one. The Electromatic collection is a more affordable take on classic Gretsch designs, and they’ve just been upgraded with some new premium features. Here’s the press release.

Last week I caught up with riffmaster Dino Cazares to chat about the tour and, of course, guitars.

So you’re letting fans have a say in the setlist. Read More …
