Its to my latest understanding that 8 string pickups such as Bare Knuckle's Black Dog are actually better for modelling because of the inherent balance and warmth in sound. With tube amps, as we all know, it's a totally different ballgame where pups such as the Dactivator 8, BKP's Aftermath Cold Sweat or Painkiller, and Lundgren's M8 seem to be a better fit.. or wait... the Lundgren falls into the modelling realm... shit man, I don't know! I just want a pickup that will sound perfect with my Framus Cobra (KT88 upgraded), and in my new Agile Intrepid 828 MN single pickup version with the all maple neck and a swamp ash body. I'm thinking that some of the BKP's might be too bright for these already bright woods.. although the Ceramic Nailbomb could be on the money. I'm rambling...
