Positive Grid BIAS Desktop Amp Matching Modeler

For the last couple of months I’ve been messing around with Positive Grid’s BIAS Desktop Amp Matching Modeller and I’m utterly blown away. It’s fast, it’s responsive, it’s punchy, it’s flexible, and it sits in a mix incredibly well. I’ll post my review shortly by in the meantime here’s the press release.

Universal Audio ENGL Amp Plug-ins

englAah, now this is cool! Universal Audio has released official ENGL amplifier plug-ins for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo Audio Interface, featuring ENGL’s E765 RT and E646 VS amps. along with a few selected rack effects, cabinets and mics. These emulations give you EL34 and 6L6-based amps and if they’re anything like real ENGLs – which I’m sure they are or ENGL wouldn’t put their name on them – they’re gonna cover a lot of ground and will sound plenty fat while doing so. REVIEW: DigiTech iPB-10

Check out the latest programmable pedalboard from Digitech. Nice display, huh? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a multi effects unit with a display that big. Wait a minute, is that… nah, it couldn’t be… wait, it is! Well I’ll be! The iPB-10 actually holds an iPad, clutching the groundbreaking Apple tablet device to its metallic bosom like, well, like I did when I got my iPad a few weeks ago. DigiTech knows that multi effect units – even their own – have always suffered from cramped screens, but a full-colour, oversized display would be prohibitively expensive to add to such a device. With the iPB-10, DigiTech lets Apple take care of that aspect so they can focus on what they do best: making kickass effects and amp simulations.
