MUSIKMESE: ESP shakes things up with E-II range

This has been rumoured for a few months, but now it’s a reality: From 2014, the only guitars to bear the ESP name will be Japanese Custom Shop models. The Standard series will come to an end and the new (and continuing) guitar models will be named E-II.

ESP has plenty of great pics on their Facebook, but here are a couple of teasers. I gotta say, this 8-string is reeeeeeally doing it for me. If you’re here in Australia, keep an eye on Bmusic for all the new models.

NEWS: Hagstrom now available on

Here’s some cool news for Hagstrom fans – you can now buy Hagstrom guitars on

Now, for my fellow Aussie readers I’d like to point out that Amazon won’t ship guitars to Australia, but don’t stress, because the awesome folks at Australasian Music Supplies import Hagstrom guitars! Check out the Australian Hagstrom site here. And for some very sound reasons for supporting your local importer, check out Shane from bMusic‘s epic rant on US vs Australia pricing here.

Here’s the press release:

Hagstrom Guitars, a classic brand popularized by artists such as Frank Zappa, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, and David Bowie, has announced that its full line of electric guitars and basses is now available on for online purchase. Amazon will feature the full Hagstrom line, including the popular Viking, Swede and Super Swede models.

Hagstrom guitars and basses have an avid following among musicians and collectors, who admire them for their classic styling, versatile sound, and great playability. Current artists who play Hagstrom include Pat Smear (Foo Fighters, the Germs); Dweezil Zappa (Zappa Plays Zappa), Ryland Blackinton (Cobra Starship), Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo (Gym Class Heroes), Forrest Klein (Hellogoodbye), Robert Morris (The Hush Sound) and more.

Perhaps Mark Thomas Kluepfel from Action Action sums it up best expressing that his Viking “is a great and mighty beast that delvers me over the top fuzz. Though it also carries finesse with its comfortable neck, capable of delivering a warm and round clean tone. The Viking has quickly become my favorite guitar due to its genius ability to be extremely versatile. I am a believer!”
