Grover Jackson and Jon Gold’s new guitar company GJ2 was one of the coolest booths at last NAMM. It’s really great to see Grover putting his name to guitars again, and the designs themselves are all at once unique and comfortable, from the Concorde to the Glendora to the 7-string Arete to the more affordable Arete 3 Star. And hey, that Green Meanie Glendora ain’t too shabby either. NAMM obviously went well for the company because now they’re expanding their facilities to meet increased demand. Here’s the press release announcing the sooner-than-expected expansion.
GUITAR BUILDER GOES BIG
Unexpectedly High Demand Prompts GJ2 Guitars To Expand Facilities
Laguna Hills, CA — Orange County-based guitar maker GJ2 Guitars has expanded its headquarters to meet increased demand by adding a fourth unit, bringing its total space to over 10,000 square feet.
GJ2 added space to its current paint facility building—which now includes assembly, quality control, packing and shipping— to accommodate the need for greater production capacity.
CEO Jon Gold explains the reason GJ2 decided to expand sooner than expected: “Our sales started to escalate dramatically during the fourth quarter of 2012 and we could foresee the need for far higher levels of production. But even with projected increases, the incredible success of our new Glendora model at January’s NAMM Show made the need for additional space greater and more immediate than we could have anticipated. As it turns out, the opportunity to extend our facilities couldn’t have come at a better time.”
