Charvel releases Henrik Danhage sig

“It started with Charvel for me back in ’86 or ’87 when I saw a Charvel and Jackson ad in Guitar World,” Henrik Danhage says. “I was a little kid then and all of the guys that were in there were some of my favorite players and they looked so cool with the big hair and all the custom guitars. It was the best ad I’ve seen in my whole life as a matter of fact, but I was more attracted to Charvel and those kind of guitars – with a bolt-on neck, 22 frets, Charvel logo, a Floyd.

PRS announces Private Stock Paul’s 85

PRS Guitars has just announced Paul’s 85, a limited run of 85 Private Stock guitars personally spec’d by Paul Reed Smith himself and meticulously crafted by the Private Stock team. The model features an Electric Tiger Glow finish, wide-curl maple tops, dark Peruvian mahogany necks, solid red abalone birds, and more features specially chosen by Paul. PRS says each guitar was played and adjusted by Paul until it was ‘right.’ 

Peavey Resumes HP 2 Production

The story is pretty well known by now: Eddie Van Halen designs the Wolfgang with Peavey, Eddie eventually sets up his own brand in partnership with Fender, and many years later Peavey announces that it has a bunch of old parts left over since the 90s and that the model will be returned to the lineup as the HP 2. It’s been quite a while since the HP 2 was announced, but now Peavey has enlisted new luthiers in Europe to take over production, using those original parts until they run out, after which they’ll be fresh new builds.Here’s the press release from Peavey with more info.
