You’ve gotta hear Thorns, the new album by Tony Martin, formerly vocalist of Black Sabbath for some of my favourite Sabbath albums. It’s a really diverse album, with everything from acoustic blues to all-out metal. The production sounds great, the musical arrangements are really interesting (check out ‘Book Of Shadows’ for a particularly unique arrangement), and Tony’s voice is just outstanding. Wait til you hear the choruses of the Sabbathworthy ‘Nowhere To Fly.’ Just amazing stuff. And there’s a really fun, 70s-sounding guitar solo on ‘Crying Wolf’ that just puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.

But that video up there, ‘As The World Burns,’ is a great way to kick off the album with some metal.
